A paper-delivered test, the Braille Proficiency Praxis has two parts:
- a selected-response section assessing test-taker's ability to read Braille
- a performance-assessment section assessing test-taker's ability to produce embossed Braille text from printed text using both a slate and stylus as well as a manual braillewriter
- Test Fee: $156
- Test Time: 4 hours
- Test Code: 0633
- The Braille Proficiency Praxis is currently required in Mississippi, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Virginia, and West Virginia. Check out Where to Test to find test centers and learn on which dates the test is available.
- Access the Braille Proficiency Assessment Study Companion (PDF) to prepare for your test.
- Your scores will be available in your Praxis account. Find your score reporting date.
- If you feel you didn’t perform to your potential on the test, you can cancel your scores before they’re reported. Once you cancel your scores, they cannot be reinstated. To cancel, contact ETS at praxis@ets.org or 1-800-772-9476 no later than 5 PM U.S. Eastern Time on the Monday following your test date.
