Annual Changes
Every year, ETS updates the Praxis website, a process that includes the state-requirements pages.
Praxis updates and state changes
The Praxis testing year runs from September to August. In mid-July, ETS updates the Praxis website to reflect changes for the upcoming testing year. To ensure the accuracy of all state requirements when registration for the new testing year opens in mid-July, we ask states and organizations to submit any test-requirement changes by May for the upcoming testing year.
Regular ETS changes
The following annual changes require no action on the part of states and agencies:
- Tests moving to a new score scale
- Existing titles being offered in a computer-delivered format
Unless instructed otherwise, ETS makes these changes automatically.
Changes for regenerated tests
For regenerated tests that require a standard-setting study, we require the following:
- You must submit adoption-and-drop paperwork to transition from the old test to the new test.
- You must give ETS this paperwork by the beginning of May for the upcoming testing year.
